Citizens of EU member states, European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland do not need a visa for entering the Republic of Austria.
Nationals of other countries might require a visa in order to enter the Schengen Area or the Austrian territory.

You will be able to request and download a visa invitation letter during the registration process. The Vienna Tourist Board will be informing the Austrian Consulates and Embassies on the dates of the ESCRS Congress. They should therefore be aware that they will be receiving visa requests to travel to Austria.
